Elder Health Care in pact with Japanese firm

India, Aug. 18 -- Elder Health Care, part of Elder group of companies, has entered into an in-licensed deal with Japan's $1.6-billion Pola Chemical Industries to sell the latter's skincare and cosmetic products in India. While the company will at first distribute Pola's skin whitening cream and gel, it plans to extend the partnership to anti-ageing products, beauty treatment and fragrances later. Further, it plans to sell these products through retailers as well as dermatologists and cosmetologists. With this tie up, India has become the 16th country outside Japan, where Pola's premium line skincare products are offered. Meanwhile, the company is also expected to enter into an agreement for baby skincare products soon. Elder has built a strong marketing and distribution network in the Indian skincare market with Fairone Fairness Cream and Fairone Soap which are licensed from Shahnaz Hussain Herbals.
