After struggling to come to terms with the lack of halal-based beauty products in America and Canada, and failing, Layla Mandi high-tailed back to the UAE and invested herself in the research of Muslim-friendly substitutes.

Two years later, her quest was complete. Following detailed consultations with chemists and dermatologists, the former make-up artist discovered alternate base ingredients and launched her very own range of halal-certified products.

"The certification of these products from OnePure Skincare is very similar to that of food and they contain absolutely no usage of pork or alcohol. I wanted to give Muslims alternatives for skincare," says Mandi on her inspiration for this pioneer range. "I've also worked hard on making the packaging chic because I didn't want halal products to be 'uncool'."
